Can Lucy Sing?

YES! As a youngster she trained as an Opera singer but didn't like the restrictions so stopped her studies. Lucy got back into singing professionally with a role in Grease! on Broadway during September / October 1997, followed that up by singing with Dave Dobbyn on a concert tour of New Zealand, the NZ Pre Oscar Party.

Lucy's debut on Celebrity Duets (where she came second) gave her the performing bug and she has held concerts in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and London and other areas. Can Lucy Dance?

Lucy says she can't but if she really tries she can dance quite well. Her performances in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes where several of songs she performed required her to dance were outstanding. She did a great job. Lucy is not a natural dancer but can do it if she puts her mind to it.

Is Lucy Married?

Yes. Lucy is married to Robert G. Tapert (Rob). They have been married since 28 March 1998. Rob is a producer (and was the producer for Xena Warrior Princess). They have two children, Julius and Judah, and Lucy has a daughter, Daisy, from a previous marriage.

How Tall is Lucy?

Lucy is 5' 9.5. Several articles refer to her as being 5'10 or 5'11 (and even 6 ft) but they are incorrect. Lucy recently stated that she finally measured herself and found that she was 5'9.5

I've seen pictures of Lucy with a tattoo on her arm, is it real?

Lucy does not have any tattoos but she did sport a fake one for a little while in Seattle during rehearsals for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. That tat was not related to the show and it wasn't real. Came off with baby oil.

I've seen pictures that Lucy has taken, were they really taken by Lucy?

Yep they sure were. A very generous fan Edgar donated them to the site for everyone to enjoy.

Naked Eye Celebrity Benefit - They asked 150 celebrities & artists to shoot a disposable camera and they auctioning off these cameras-before they're developed! The money raised went to gay and lesbian film organizations MIX NYC and The 19th NY Lesbian & Gay Experimental Film Festival.

I'm sure if you are reading this section of the FAQ you are wanting to know where on AUSXIP those semi-naked/naked pictures of Lucy from Spartacus are located.

I know you have been trying to locate that super secret file area, you can stop looking you won't find them here.

AUSXIP's policy is not to showcase images which are adult in nature AND I don't wish to disrespect Lucy in any way by showcasing those images even though they have been shown on television. Let Google be your friend; I'm sure you will find sites who have no such policy and who are quite happy to show those images and disrespect Lucy (I'm actually quite saddened by "fans" who claim they love Lucy who do post screencaptures and have no respect for her).

The Hockey Game incident was an accident and downright embarrassing for Lucy. She didn't intend for it to happen and therefore you won't find them on the site.

Why do fans call her "Flawless"

F stands for Frances, her middle name and Lawless is her surname. Thus you have FLAWLESS. It's quite fitting. Her fans frequently call her "The Flawless One"

What is the NZ Order of Merit and Why did Lucy get this award

Lucy has been given this honour for services to entertainment and the community.

The 36-year-old actor, whose role as Xena in Xena: Warrior Princess made her a cult television star, has been involved with the Starship Foundation for the past 10 years and has held a role on its board of trustees for the past four years. Starship Foundation chief executive Andrew Young said Lawless gave freely of her time.

Was Julius Tapert (Lucy and Rob's first son) in Xena as Baby Eve?

No. Several magazines claim that Julius was used for Baby Eve but that isn't true. Lucy and Rob are very protective of their son. Daisy Lawless (Lucy's daughter) was in an episode of Hercules as an extra.

Josh Becker (writer and director for several Xena episodes) addressed this issue on a Q&A on his site:

"Xena's child, Eve, is in this episode. As the old expression goes, the things you want to avoid in filmmaking are: babies, animals, and shooting on the water. We had two babies so that when one got cranky we could replace it with the other one. And yes, I've met Julius Tapert several times. He is a very pleasant, quiet, sleepy baby, so far.

What Is the Lucy Lawless Feel The Love Day/Week?

21 September has been designated Lucy Lawless Feel The Love Day by her fans on the Official Lucy Lawless Fan Club. It was the brainchild of Rebecca (one of Lucy's many devoted fans) who wanted to show her appreciation for Lucy and since then the Official Lucy Lawless Fan Club has maintained a list of fans and their contributions.

It kicks off a week of charitable acts and donations by the fans in honor and support of Lucy. On the 21st, Lucy will be presented with a single red rose, a card from her official fan club, and the list of all the charitable acts and donations that will be made in her honor. What better way to show how much we care about Lucy in that we give to others.

Did Lucy Take Photos For Charity and Where Can I Find Them?

Lucy was asked by the MIX NYC and NY Lesbian & Gay Experimental Film Festival if she could take a disposable camera and take photos. They were then auctioned off to raise money for gay and lesbian film organisations. The fan who won the cameras (Edgar) contributed the photos to the site for everyone to enjoy. Camera #1 went for $3,350 and Camera #2 went for $3,550. You can view the photos here

Was Lucy arrested during the OccupyOakland Protests

Lucy sends in two mock mug shots of her alleged "arrest"...read on!

These photos are a response to the calls Lucy's reps have been getting about her purported arrest in Oakland 3 November 2011 based on tweets that have been circulating.

Evidently, she crossed the line when she threw a boot at a cop and got arrested. The crowd was chanting, "Free Xena!" Lucy apologies to Nick Nolte for pinching his style.

Over the last few days there has been a rumour going round and round and round that Lucy was arrested at an OccupyOakland rally. What a load of tosh. Lucy's official rep has confirmed that this is utter nonsense and Lucy was in Los Angeles and not in Oakland and certainly not in any Occupy Protest

What started this? A rumour started on Twitter of someone claiming it was Lucy who threw a boot at a cop. The facts shouldn't get in the way of a good made up story so without a shred of evidence to prove it was the real Lucy Lawless, the rumour spread and since we have a plethora of celebs behaving badly...well it was believed.

As you can see from the photo - that's not the case; Lucy was NOT arrested. She does have a great sense of humour and doesn't take herself seriously so she sent in the photos and made a joke of it.

Her mug shots are fun and her alleged arrest is false.

Will Lucy Be In Parks and Recreation Season 6

Yes Lucy will be appearing as Diane Lewis, girlfriend of Ron in the upcoming season. In the last episode of Season 5, Diane was pregnant with Ron's baby.

it has been confirmed by co-creator and exec Producer Michael Schur that Diane is indeed pregnant in an EW Interview:

First off: Is Diane (Lucy Lawless) really pregnant, or did the episode purposely leave the weensiest bit of wiggle room at the end by not showing her delivering any news ?

And we don�t know exactly when we�ll be able to use her but we foresee at least trying to use her a lot next year� The most interesting thing about it is how it affects Ron (Nick Offerman). It�s his life that we�ve been following for five years, so that story can play out in a lot of different areas of his life. He�s going to go through a significant transformation as he prepares to do this gigantic thing, which is to become a biological father. That�s obviously going to be a big part of the year for his character, and it won�t only be in the �I have to read some baby books and figure out how to change diapers� kind of way.�

How did the writers settle on Diane and Ron as the pregnant couple? Were other options considered?

The story line was born out of discussions surrounding Ann�s (Rashida Jones) mission to have a baby. �We realized that there�s nothing really surprising about telling the story of a person who wants to get pregnant for 10 episodes and then at the end of the year they�re pregnant,� says Schur. �So it seemed funnier to have her go through her trials and tribulations and try all these different things and decide it�s going to be Chris and have them plan, and then have someone else get pregnant�. We explored all the different possibilities. We talked about it being Leslie (Amy Poehler), obviously � that would be the first idea. That�s something we want to do on the show someday but it is so disruptive to have the main character on your show get pregnant and have to be pregnant for an entire year. And Amy in real life has been pregnant for, like, 98 percent of the time when we were shooting the show, and I think if we told her she was going to have to pretend she was pregnant next year, she would murder me. So then we thought about Donna (Rhetta) just because it seemed funny and it would be mysterious about who the dad is. Then we talked about April and Andy, which seemed really fun. But at the end of the day we thought: We have this other relationship that�s been in the background of the entire season and having it be Ron would be really fun and unexpected�. It�s a big change for him and it furthers the arc of him having to make a little bit of room in his life for a woman that he cares about and her two kids, which was a big theme of the year for him. Once we decided that, it was just a question of setting everything up. We did an episode where Leslie suddenly saw Jerry�s life and was like, �Maybe I want more than just work in my life.� We had Tom (Aziz Ansari) have this crazy relationship with Mona-Lisa (Jenny Slate) and that seemed like it could be a legitimate unplanned disaster that would befall them. So, slowly over the last five or six episodes, we set it up so that anyone seemed like a legitimate possibility. From there, it was just a case of trying to build the best mystery we possibly could with the most misleads and crazy left turns.�

LUCY LAWLESS OCCUPIES ARCTIC DRILLING SHIP

Auckland, 24 February 2012 ? At 7am this morning actor Lucy Lawless joined Greenpeace New Zealand activists in stopping a Shell-contracted drillship from departing the port of Taranaki for the remote Arctic, where its exploratory oil drilling programme threatens to devastate the Alaskan coastline. The Noble Discoverer is due to depart on a 6,000 nautical mile journey to drill three exploratory oil wells in the Chukchi Sea off the coast of Alaska. Six Greenpeace New Zealand activists, along with Lawless, famous for her roles in Xena: Warrior Princess and Spartacus, have boarded the vessel, scaled its 53 metre drilling derrick and are in the process of hanging banners from its summit, reading "Stop Shell" and "#SaveTheArctic." They are equipped with survival gear and enough supplies to last for several days.

"I'm here today acting on behalf of the planet and my children," said Lawless. "Deep-sea oil drilling is bad enough, but venturing into the Arctic, one of the most magical places on the planet, is going too far. I don't want my kids to grow up in a world without these extraordinary places intact or where we ruin the habitat of polar bears for the last drops of oil."

She continued, "To see the melting of the sea ice not as a warning to humanity but as an invitation to drill for more of the stuff that caused the problem in the first place is the definition of madness. What Shell is doing is climate change-profiteering."

Shell is the first major international oil company to make the exploitation of the Arctic a key part of their strategy. If the Noble Discoverer strikes oil this summer, other global oil giants may quickly follow, sparking an Arctic oil rush. The Arctic's extreme weather conditions and short summer season means Shell has a limited window for drilling new exploratory wells before the return of winter sea ice. Freezing temperatures, unpredictable weather and remote drilling locations pose unprecedented challenges, making an oil spill impossible to contain and clean up (1).

Update of the Court Case

Lucy and her fellow Greenpeace protestors were fined $640 and sentenced to 120 hours of community service on 7 February 2013 in New Plymouth Court in New Zealand.
