Lucy Lawless, Television's
Xena: Warrior Princess
launches Musical Concert Career
After
six years of facing warlords, amazons and assorted monsters on
the hit series Xena: Warrior Princess, popular actress Lucy
Lawless takes on the equally daunting task of performing in
front of a live audience. Lucy's rock concert debut has already
sold out The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood on January 13th with an
additional show added for the following night at 8pm.
After coming in a close second place on the recent Fox
competition series Celebrity Duets where Lawless performed with
musical icons Smokey Robinson and Dionne Warwick, she states,
"I’ve become a junkie for live performance. I can’t get enough
and I can’t give enough. With balls the size of Africa I figured
I might as well start at a legendary musical venue like The
Roxy".
Lawless will sing songs by artists who have powerfully
influenced her: Etta James, Nina Simone, Crissy Hynde, and
Melissa Etheridge plus performing some of her own work. Lawless
further says, "This performance is the soundtrack of my life”.
Rickey Minor, the musical director of American Idol and
Celebrity Duets, has helped the New Zealand born star put
together a remarkable band to perform behind her. Opening for
Lawless will be Comedy Central's Tig Notaro.
Tickets for the January 14th show are available for $65. They
can be purchased below or The Roxy Box Office or by calling
818/409 0960 x225. The Roxy Theatre is located at 9009 W. Sunset
Blvd., Hollywood. Doors will open at 7:30 PM.

intimate 90 minute performance. All tickets sold through this
site on-line are standing only. There are only 425 tickets
available for SUNDAY (SATURDAY NIGHT IS SOLD OUT) Tickets are
