In the battle to keep
celebs off the streets and gainfully employed, ABC and Fox did
their part Monday.
Alphabet web announced the lineup for the third edition of
"Dancing With the Stars" -- including bow-tied TV pundit Tucker
Carlson and talkshow host Jerry Springer -- while Fox unveiled
the talent slated to test their crooning chops on the new skein
"Celebrity Duets," including former "Xena" star Lucy Lawless and
ex-Chongmate Cheech Marin.
"Duets," which bows Aug. 29, also will feature pro wrestler
Chris Jericho, 2004 Olympic gold medalist Carly Patterson,
former Michael Jackson pal and "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"
housemate Alfonso Ribeiro, "Queer Eye's" Jai Rodriguez (the one
with the mix tapes), thesp Hal Sparks ("Queer as Folk") and
"Caroline in the City" star Lea Thompson.
Wayne Brady hosts "Duets," which will pair the actors with
musicians such as Belinda Carlisle, Macy Gray, James Ingram,
Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Smokey Robinson, Aaron Neville and
Randy Travis.
