Hope sings eternal: It's all about show tunes, show tunes, show tunes at the HIV/AIDS fund-raiser "Help is On the Way X: Broadway ... And All That Jazz" on Monday.
A cast of more than 20 stars, including Tyne Daly, Lucy Lawless, original Supreme Mary Wilson and Brian Boitano, will belt out songs at the 10th anniversary version of this San Francisco event.
Proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS, Center for AIDS Services of Oakland, Meals of Marin, and San Francisco organizations Bay Positives, New Leaf Services for our Community and UCSF AIDS Health Project.
"It's a perfect blend of entertainment and community involvement," said event publicist Lawrence Helman. "It's a great way to see big name members of the entertainment field have fun. I mean, they have fun."
A silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. and the show is at 8 p.m. at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater, 3301 Lyon St. (at Bay Street).
Tickets for the show only cost $75. Gala tickets - including the auction, show and a post-show champagne-and-dessert party with the stars - cost $150. The show is nearly sold out, but donations to Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation, which produces the event, are welcome.
