"Help Is on the Way" AIDS fund-raiser, August 2 in San Francisco
The 10th annual "Help Is on the Way" concert, held as a fund-raiser for several Northern California AIDS service organizations, will be held August 2 in San Francisco. The theme of this year's concert is "Red Hot Broadway." Performers will include Lucie Arnaz, Brian Boitano, Mary Jo Catlett, Franc D'Ambrosio, Carole Cook, Tyne Daly, Nancy Dussaut, Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker, David Friedman, Florence Henderson, Lucy Lawless, Jane Lanier, Meg Mackay, Sean McDermott, Bruce Vilanch, Paula West, Mary Wilson, cast members from Broadway's Movin' Out, and former female leads from the musical Phantom of the Opera. The event, organized by the Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation, will benefit Bay Area Young Positives, Oakland's Center for AIDS Services, Meals of Marin, New Leaf: Services for Our Community, USCF AIDS Health Project, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The event will be held at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater, 3301 Lyon St. A preshow gala and silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m.; the performance will be held at 8 p.m. A dessert and wine party will follow the concert. Ticket prices begin at $75 for the concert only and start at $150 for all of the evening's events.
