Xena Warrior Princess Journeys to Oz Comic-Con!

Attention all Warriors and ancient warlords: the world’s toughest princess is taking control of Oz Comic-Con Perth and Adelaide this April. Lucy Lawless, best known as Xena on cult-favourite series Xena: Warrior Princess, is making an exclusive appearance on the Saturday of each event.

Lawless is a sci-fi and fantasy fan favourite, and is sure to have Australian fans preparing their Warrior-inspired outfits for her visit. But it’s not just all about Xena. After completing her stint as the tough-talking, Chakram-chucking princess, Lawless moved on to prominent roles in Battlestar Galactica, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Parks and Recreation and most recently on the television series Ash vs. Evil Dead as the mysterious Ruby Knowby.

Lawless will be taking part in professional photograph and autograph opportunities on the Saturday of each event, as well as hosting an exclusive Q&A panel in each city. IGN has reviewed the episode of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that featured Lucy as Hidrala, the Supreme Ruler of the Daagon. It’s in Season 4, Episode 9: The Cosmic Ocean.

After yet another long hiatus, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returned with a major storyline, as the Turtles went after the second fragment of the black hole generator. At the same time, this episode featured a great emotional through line for Leonardo, who was beginning to doubt they could really save Earth. That's not to mention the sheer amount of voice talent in this episode, including David Tennant, Ron Perlman, Peter Stormare and introducing Lucy Lawless (Xena!) as Hiidrala, Supreme Ruler of the Daagon.

… but the Daagon themselves were very unique, and Lawless did a great job of giving Hiidrala a noble, high-minded air. While the Daagon species lacked the same mysterious quality as the Aeons, their unique "rite of passage" for the Turtles gave them an edge.

…Lucy Lawless also shined here in her TMNT debut as Hiidrala. In terms of fragment missions, "The Cosmic Ocean" is the one to beat in Season 4.

The NZ animated series “The Barefoot Bandits” premiered in NZ on 14 February. Lucy has voiced the role of Denenis Gobb (episode 4).

Lucy joined the cast of the Barefoot Bandits (a kiwi animated show. The Barefoot Bandits, is an animated story based on two hard-case characters Tane and Fridge, who first appeared in the NZ On Air-funded special Missing Christmas. It is for young primary age children. What is this show about? The little known island of Ngaro has long held many a mystery, though this fact has been largely unnoticed by the quiet townsfolk that call it home. That is until Tane, Fridge and Riley, who call themselves The Barefoot Bandits, take it upon themselves to investigate all the secrets the island has to offer. -

Lucy appeared in the farewell to the tv show Mythbusters. Check it out – her segment appears approx 1.17 minutes into the video in honour of Mythbuster’s final season which ends in 2016.

Mythbusters is a weekly documentary in which two Hollywood special effects experts attempt to debunk urban legends by directly testing them.
