The local Broken Hill newspaper "Barrier Daily Truth" has a great article on the filming of Lucy's new mini-series Code
which has been filming in Broken Hill and Silverton (25 km from Broken
Hill). This is the first article focusing more on Code rather than Lucy.
The second article will focus more on Lucy and her career after Xena.
Many thanks to Alexandra Hawke for the newspaper scans and transcript.
In
Code, Lucy plays the role of Alex Wisham, a "passionate" teacher (as
she is described in the article below). What was more interesting in
this article was that Lucy was first to sign up to the mini-series. We
will see the mini-series in Australia on the ABC sometime next year. No
word yet on whether this will be shown in other countries.

Actress Still A Warrior
Barrier Daily Truth - 2 October 2013
LUCY Lawless has admitted she was surprised by Xena: Warrior Princess' popularity and the endearing base of Australian fans it still has 12 years after it finished.
The 45-year-old spent six years playing the supernatural adventure television series' title character, which aired its last episode in 2001.
She is now filming ABC tele-movie 'CODE' in and around Broken Hill in which she plays the part of small town school teacher Alex. The New Zealand actress has had a string of guest roles on everything from The Simpsons to Burn Notice - but she hasn't been able to shake her reputation as the infamous warrior.
"Filipinos around the world can spot me at one thousand paces," she says.
"But Australia for some reason - they might not actually recognise me walking down the street but when they are told, figure it out or inform one another, then they see that person who played that role.
"That is kind of unique in my experience. Xena hasn't been on air for years and I never think about it very much. "It's just such an amazing thing that Australians took to their hearts. I'm surprised by the lasting impact especially in this country."
