A New Zealand charity, Starjam, has posted on their twitter that they are fundraising and the following is on their fundraising page “Many great charities have been folding due to lack of funding. And when the doors are closed, it’s too late. In order for StarJam to keep helping young people with disabilities, we need you to swing into action. Our goal is to raise NZ$100,000 (approx US$80,000) during the month of August 2013. This will enable 50 kids with disabilities to take part in StarJam for a whole year.
StarJam is a unique celebration of the gifts and talents of children and young people with disabilities. Their aim was to create opportunities for children and young people with disabilities to perform or participate in a variety of spectacular events together with big name stars and celebrities. Project StarJam was launched on 3 November 2002 at the Sheraton Hotel in Auckland with the inaugural "Stars Thru Their Eyes."
