This has been a project on the backburner for a quite a few months and it's finally been born. AUSXIP Video used to contain the AUSXIP Lucy Lawless video channels. I have now moved the entire Lucy video portion of AUSXIP Video over to the Lucy site. So far it looks and behaves normally but there may be the occasional glitch. The linked videos from subsites will now be fixed so everything matches. Older video posts linking to the original AUSXIP video Lucy portion will not work.

The new site will work just like AUSXIP Video so everything should be relatively the same. The only difference being is the entire thing is just Lucy videos.

I will now be posting videos that have been offline for a while (I was waiting to make the switch over) so you will be seeing lots more of the older videos like Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, Boogeyman etc go up as well.

The NBC comedy just shot another episode with Lawless as Diane last week, and there could be more. A lot more. As show boss Mike Schur explains, “The idea was that through the first four seasons we’ve seen Ron in one or two OK relationships and several entirely disastrous, miserable ones. So… this was a big thing we wanted to check off, to give him a lady friend who was significant and important in his life. We certainly have a lot of plans for [Lucy] through the rest of the season — and hopefully beyond.”

The following is news regarding the Jane Campion 7 part mini-series Top of the Lake. Lucy will be appearing in the first episode as Caroline Platt.

Sundance Channel has announced the debut date for Jane Campion's original miniseries starring Elisabeth Moss and also featuring Lucy in the first episode of the 7 part series.

Top of the Lake, a mystery revolving around the disappearance of a pregnant 12-year-old, will debut on the network Monday, March 18 at 9 p.m., when it will air the first two hour long installments. The seven-part series will continue to air Mondays.

Moss leads an ensemble cast that includes Holly Hunter, Peter Mullan (War Horse), David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) and Lucy Lawless (Spartacus: Vengeance). Garth Davis directed with co-writer Gerard Lee (Sweetie).

When an Alaska-bound oil rig docked in the New Zealand port of Taranaki, actor Lucy Lawless (a Kiwi herself) and six Greenpeace activists snuck aboard, climbed its 174-foot drilling tower, unfurled bright yellow banners that said "Stop Shell" and "#SaveTheArctic"—and wouldn't descend. Three days later, they were all arrested and charged with trespassing. Lawless might be best known for her past role as Xena the Warrior Princess, but her fight scenes are now about preserving the planet.

Lucy has posted a new message on her official site regarding Feel The Love Week and the fantastic generous good works her fans have done in that week (and beyond).

What is Feel The Love Week? September 21 kicks off a week of charitable acts and contributions by Lucy fans all over the world. Taking our love for all things Lucy and sharing it with those around us who are in need.

You can choose what you'd like to do, whether it is donating money or supplies to a charity, volunteering your time or services to a charitable organization, reading to a child, or helping out a neighbor, co-worker, or friend. Any act of charity or kindness counts!  After which all the names and charitable acts are collected and sent to Lucy. Lucy has mentioned in the past how much this yearly event means to her. It was started back in 2006 and has been going ever since!

Back in October (Oct 7) The Partially Examined Life site released a 2 hour podcast they did with Lucy on the subject of fame. This was such an interesting podcast. It was unfortunate for non English speaking fans that some could not understand all of the podcast. I was asked by several fans if a transcript existed. I contacted the guys from Partially Examined Life and asked. Unfortunately there wasn't a transcript. Once A Warrior Princess, the kiwi actress is now fighting for the future of our planet. this year marked a major turning point for Kiwi actress Lucy Lawless, who took her green activism to the next level when she was arrested in New Plymouth aboard an old-drilling ship bound for the Arctic.

Last month, the sentencing of Lucy and seven other protestors was adjourned to early 2013. Here, she writes to her as yet-unborn grandchildren about her motivations and fears for the future.

Lucy was on Parks and Recreation tonight in the Season 5 Episode 9 episode "Ron and Diane". I personally think this episode was the funniest of them all featuring Lucy. I laughed out loud several times - just loved it! More Lucy on this show!

Back in November 2011, Lucy sent the following note again deep sea oil drilling.

I’d urge anyone who wants to protect our coasts from an even worse oil spill than that which we saw in Tauranga, to sign this petition. By doing so, they’ll also be doing something positive about the climate crisis that this planet is facing."

She sent the following note to the NZ Governmenet about Petrobras and deep sea oil drilling in NZ waters on 15 November 2011

Dear New Zealand Government,
I and many other New Zealanders are putting you on notice that your courting Deep Sea Oil Drillers is totally unacceptable to us.
Petrobras [the Brazilian oil company that is intending to drill for oil in up to 3100 metres of water off the East Cape, is the part-owner of an oil field northeast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where a serious oil leak has developed] already has an uncontrollable leak off their own coast which is spewing filth into their own marine environment.

Why are you giving offshore oil companies carte blanche to risk OUR fisheries, OUR coastal way of life, OUR clean green brand upon which all our premium exports rely?
Do you work for us or for them?!

Petrobras announce that they ain’t lovin New Zealand

4 December 2012

Today we learned that the Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has handed back its license to drill for oil in the deep waters off the East Cape. And this news has been welcomed by those communities whose beaches and livelihoods were at risk from an oil spill and the pollution that comes from oil drilling. The cultural and environmental heritage of this beautiful, pristine part of Aotearoa is now safe.

However, this news should also be a wake-up call for Steven Joyce and his Cabinet colleagues who have pinned our economic hopes on the whims of overseas oil companies. Every effort has been made by this National Government to court some of the world’s most polluting industries, allowing them to damage the once proud reputation New Zealanders had by lobbying for the weakening environmental safeguards and demanding taxpayer handouts.
As Bill English said today; “the Government has invested a bit of time and money making sure that oil and gas exploration is attractive”. But it’s just not working, is it Bill.

Earlier this year, Anadarko announced they were delaying their drilling activities until the end of next year, perhaps the next, and now Petrobras has pulled out. It’s like a young John Key’s posted on Facebook that his parents have left him the keys to their bach and everyone’s invited to come drink Vermouth from their drinks cabinet, but nobody’s turned up.

And from an economic standpoint, this is good news. Not only because the risk of a catastrophic oil spill on our coastlines is reduced, but making the right choice for building a more prosperous economy has become easier.

The Government’s business growth agenda – the route map to National’s economic road to nowhere – is failing. They’ve bet the house on big oil to help them think big, but this is not what’s going to help raise the standard of living in New Zealand. Neither is diminishing our global reputation by weakening laws to favour our biggest polluters or undermining global efforts to tackle climate change. All of this will harm our economy, not strengthen it.
So now, as the Ministers stand around scratching their heads looking for excuses, it’s time for us all to demand that our Government make a different choice. One which will help us build a cleaner, smarter, more inclusive economy, that is supported by progressive business and industry and will help us grow a wealthier by reducing our pollution.

An economy which is built upon our greatest resources – our values and ability to innovate – and the bedrock of our world class renewable know how.
The Portuguese have a saying: ‘Cada carneiro por seu pé pende’ which roughly translates as ‘we must depend on ourselve’s, and perhaps if the Government started believing in our ability to build our own prosperous nation, we would be well on our way to a brighter future.

Looks like Jane Campion's mini series Top of the Lake (Lucy will be in episode 1 according to IMDB) will have it's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on 17-27 January in Park City, Utah. So if you are in the neighbourhood and you don't mind a 6 hour marathon, here's your chance to watch the mini-series before it screens on the BBC / UKTV in 2013.

Lucy stars as Caroline Platt. Caroline is the estranged wife of Bob, a real estate agent who crosses drug lord Matt Mitchum. That's about all we know about Lucy's character (so far).

USA Today is reporting the following about the

Six-hour marathon. Australian director Jane Campion's Top of the Lake is a made-for-TV series that runs for six hours. At Sundance, the drama starring Holly Hunter and Elisabeth Moss will have a feature premiere with one extremely long showing.

Synopsis
A 12-year-old girl is found chest deep in the freezing waters of a South Island lake. She’s five months pregnant and when asked who the father is she insists: “No one”. Then she disappears. Detective Robin Griffin’s obsessive search for Tui unravels both Robin and the compromised town of Laketop.

Top Of The Lake is original drama at its finest, bringing to screen a unique landscape – remote, mountainous New Zealand – in a powerful and haunting story about our search for happiness in a paradise where honest work is hard to find.
