Lawless Doesn't Fear 'Boogeyman'

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Former "Xena: Warrior Princess" star Lucy Lawless (news) has jumped aboard "Boogeyman," a thriller currently shooting in her native New Zealand.
The film stars Barry Watson (the WB Network's "7th Heaven") as a young man traumatized by memories of terrible events in his childhood bedroom. Years later, he reluctantly returns home to face his fears.
Emily Deschanel ("The Alamo") plays Watson's neighbor. Tory Mussett ("The Matrix Reloaded") and Skye McCole Bartusiak ("Against the Ropes") also have been added to the cast of "Boogeyman," which is a working title.
Stephen Kay ("Get Carter") is directing; Sony's Screen Gems will distribute in North America. The film is being produced by Lawless' husband, Rob Tapert, and his business partner, "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi
