Lucy is going on a Summer Holiday Tour singing with Dave Dobbyn. The Sunday Star Times (NZ) has an interivew with Lucy about the upcoming singing tour.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/inl/print/0,1478,2132831a6621,00.html

The Summer Holiday Tour dates are:

Dec 26 Taupo Great Lakes;
Dec 27 Papamoa Sports and Recreation Club;
Dec 28 Coroglen Tavern;
Dec 29, 30 Tauranga Baycourt Theatre;
Dec 31 Waihi Beach Hotel;
Jan 2 Silverdale Wade Hotel;
Jan 3 Mangawhai Tavern;
Jan 4 Duke of Malborough Tavern, Russell;
Jan 5 Kaitaia Community Centre,
Jan 8 Parthenon, Wellington;
Jan 11 St James, Auckland.

According to the Sunday Star Times Lucy may be contemplating a new TV show in LA:

Despite the musician's encouragement, Lawless says the tour isn't the beginning of a new career. Acting is still her gig; she's contemplating a "400-year contract" for an American TV one-hour drama show, although the hours required won't leave her much time to mother. She may aim for a reduced contract that allows as much time in New Zealand as in LA, and then there's always film.

There is also a second article about the upcoming singing tour on the Stuff.co.nz site

I have just managed to get hold of the photographer from the NZ Fashion Week and secure photographs .......yyyyaaahhh!! 2 November

The following is from the Des Moines, IA (USA) Sunday Register insert this past weekend (Oct. 25-27, 2002).  It's from USA Weekend and they have questions & stuff

Q:  I loved Lucy Lawless in Xena: Warrior Princess.   What is she doing now?  Lucille Marks, Fremont, CA USA

Showing off her new baby.  The New Zealander and her American husband Xena producer Robert Tapert, recently returned to the States to introduce their second son, Judah Miro (born May 7), to his relatives.  The couple already were parents to Julius Robert, 3.  Lawless, 34, born Lucille Frances Ryan, also has a 14-year-old daughter Daisy, from her first marriage (to fellow Kiwi Garth Lawless).
many thanks to Amy Playle for the information

The following comes from Instyle Magazine - Issue 1 November 2002 about the various Emmys parties:

The pulse of 20th Century Fox's party at Morton's rivaled an episode of the network's fast-paced 24, but guest Cedric the Entertainer wanted to quicken it even further. "I'm going to get a Soul Train line started, " he said, scanning the candlelit industry eatery for would-be dancers. "How great is this?" asked Kiefer Sutherland. "I'm not used to parties like this--I'm dead serious. Check my resume!" Michael Chiklis could have used a shield to get past the onslaught of well-wishers offering hugs and high-fives, but he wasn't complaining: "Is this a downside to winning? Oh, no!" Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, for one, planned to make it an early night ("I have to get my son ready for school tomorrow, and it won't be cool if Mommy has a hangover," she joked), but the artist formerly known as Xena, Lucy Lawless, was toasting her newfound freedom from early-a.m. call times: "Gin makes me want to take my clothes off!" she announced, while others would have settled for ditching their stilettos. "I want to join Cedric's Soul Train line," said Buffy' s Michelle Trachtenberg. "If I don't fall out of my shoes, that is."

NZ Media Alert
The current issues of the NZ magazines New Idea and Woman's Day have pics of Lucy & Daisy at the NZ Fashion Show - the following is from Leanne at Kiwi Attic:
Check out the latest New Idea and Womans Day featuring Lucy Lawless! :-) As you know, It was New Zealand fashion week last week, and as well as the photos which have been seen in the papers of Lucy dressed as a man, these articles have some really nice pictures of her looking very 'chic' in a short, wavy wig. The beginning of the article reads: "Kiwi star Lucy Lawless made a shock appearance at New Zealand Fashion Week - not because she was there - but because she was wearing a wig. The former Xena Warrior Princess was one of the lucky few to get a ticket to the Zambesi fashion show at Auckland's Oriental markets and was seated next to Alannah Currie of the Thompson Twins, who was also wearing a wig. Though they had never met before, Lucy and Alannah have become e-mail buddies over their opposition to genetic engineering. They couldn't believe it when they discovered they were both sitting beside each other and both wearing wigs................." The article continues "Lucy, who wore a dark curly-haired wig, may have wanted to remain incognito, but there was no mistaking the beautiful Xena star. She also attended the Kate Sylvester fashion show first and l,ooked like amodel herself. She wore knee-high boots, a sexy mini skirt and a funky jacket. She left her two young sons at home to attend the evet with her daughter, Daisy, who is growing into a very beautiful young woman."
There is also word in the article that Lucy is off this week to LA to discuss further career plans for a movie. The Womans Day has a page on the fashion show, with a small picture of Lucy and Daisy in attendance. Details of the cost of these magazines can be found on the pages at the links below. Please note that shipping prices have increased since our last lot of Lucy magazine news.

  • In everything Kiwi comes the news that the country’s “biggest film studio” is to be built in Waitakere City in a bid to cash in on New Zealand’s growing appeal as a film-maker’s mecca. In a closed door meeting this week, council unanimously endorsed a decision to spend $3m-plus to buy the former Enza cool storage sheds on Henderson Valley Rd and convert them into an 11,000sq.ft, multi-million-dollar facility, to be called the Auckland Film Commission Studio.
    The 4ha site, used extensively to film popular television series Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: Legendary Adventurer, is already booked for three major film productions — one worth as much as $130m. West Weekly sources hint one of the three will be the big screen adaption of the CS Lewis favourite The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

News from the Sentinal & Enterprise online newspaper is that Lucy will be hosting an hour long program called  "Gladiatrix." It follows the discovery and offers clues about women who were gladiatrix (female gladiators) and who may have earned their living through blood sport. The special recreates through dramatization life in the late Roman Empire, so oft-celebrated in epic sword-and-sandals films of great machismo. To read the entire article go to
